The BUILT TO SEND team are excited to welcome Dave Sharpe to the testing team. Dave is an IFMGA British Mountain Guide based in Chamonix, France. He has been climbing for over twenty years and has skied for almost as long. He grew up in the Lake District in the UK, and now climbs rock, ice, and alpine routes in the UK, Norway and the European Alps. Although his passion is British winter and alpine climbing, his guiding career has taken him on expeditions in India and Alaska. Dave spends a large part of the winter off-piste skiing, ski touring and guiding. When he isn't working as a guide, Dave can be found working in offshore rope access as an IRATA L3 supervisor.

Dave also writes a popular blog entitled On The Sharpe End which covers his adventures, snow and ice conditions reports, and gear reviews. We are pretty excited to get his first impressions on our X0 alpine pack after a full alpine season of testing on the Eiger, Matterhorn, Mt Blanc, the Piz Badile and much more. His verdict:

"The ultimate question; would I recommend it? If you are after a simple, lightweight, very well designed pack that is manufactured to the highest specifications and tailored towards the dedicated climber/alpinist then the X series of packs come highly recommended. The simple design, bomb-proof construction and light-weight nature also make them suitable for lightweight backpacking. Pros: Simple, bomb-proof, very well designed. Lightweight and very comfortable in use. Hand made in the UK. Cons: The G-hook closures take a bit of getting used to initially. Expensive, but then again you get what you pay for! Overall: An awesome bit of kit and one that I’m sure will accompany me on many more adventures to come!"
